The Bandits moved to 2-0 on the young season after a victory over the Minneapolis Blue Sox of the Park National. Bloomington was driven by Mark Hanson's game and season high 5 RBI in the win. Hanson went 3-4 in the game. Kyle Bassamore chipped in 2 hits and an RBI with Jason Meyer knocking in a run as well.
Cliff Christopherson picked up where he left off from 2011. Christopherson got the win throwing four innings and punching out seven Sox of Blue. Christopherson looks to be adding to many categories of the Bandit record book on the mound as he continues to throw baseballs with great success. Newbie Kevin Handt made his Bandit debut going three strong frames allowing 1 hit and dispensing three Blue Sockers via 1-2-3 strikes. Handt also impressed team mates in the lot after the game as Ryan Walker stated, "He likes beer, so we like him". Not to mention Handt's ability to chuck baseballs will be another (and more important reason) for cohesiveness with team mates in twenty twelve.
Good victory for the Maroon and Black. The good guys get a full week game break to recover for next weekends contest with Blue Package Delivery as the Bandits strand the Park National squads for this St. Paul club. Blue Package holds the overall series edge with a 1-0 lead. Blue Package is a good group of guys and the Bandits look forward to the contest.
