Bloomington Bandits

Recap for the 07/03/2012 game vs. Minneapolis Patriots

Preview Box Score Recap
Minneapolis Patriots 8, Bloomington Bandits 5

Jake Huwe became the second Bandit to successfully steal home.  Alex Mack was thrown out at home in an ill advised  attempted steal later in the game which seemed to light a fire under  the solid Pats team.  Coach Bellichek commented later "Nobody steals home twice in 1 game on us  NOBODY!"   Nick Cobb started on the bump and had to be relieved after 3 hitters after falling victim to extreme heat.  Cobb was relieved by Cliff Christopherson.  Christopherson pitched well on only 2 days of rest after throwing on Sunday.  Zach Horn and Mark Hanson each threw their first innings this season.

Bloomington had the Minneapolis Patriots down going into the top of the seventh only to surrender the lead.  Late inning issues keep popping up for the Bandits. Ryan Walker and Hanson had 5 of the 7 Bandit hits.  Kevin Leak had a hit and rbi and generally dominated on the bases.   Overall it was a decent performance (just need to finish the game) that allowed a few guys to get reps at positions they normally don't play.  It's a good time for a break as the Bandits don't return to action until July 8th against the FanHQ Fantoms on Fan Appreciation Night at Red Haddox Field at Toro Stadium.
